“Namaste to All Friends of Singla”
“Friends of Singla” (FOS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 with the aim to help and support people and especially children from Singla, a small village in the Manaslu Area of Nepal.Singla Village is located in the high Himalayas at a height of 2400 m in the state of Gorkha, North-West of Kathmandu (the capital city of Nepal). As it falls in a very remote region, there is no road access, no hospitals or infrastructure. There is a small basic primary school and since 2010 five teachers work for over 190 children who attend this school. Students interested in continuing their secondary education are taught at boarding schools far away from Singla. For example in Laprak, Arughat or Gorkha.
